The year begins with Zak meeting the team and the engineers having his seat fitting in the F1000 car. Zak will embark on a full testing programme in 2024 in the HexRacing funded single seaters. In addition to this Zak will work full time on the HexRacing 2024 GT programme as a graduate engineer.
Under the guidance of the HexRacing UK team Zak raced in the JSCC for several rounds and will use the rest of this year to focus on developing as a professional race car driver and preparing for the next steps in his racing career.
Zak joined the JSCC paddock as a rookie in 2022 and made sure to leave his mark. Successfully progressing throughout the year Zak showed determination and commitment as he battled against 32 junior drivers. Claiming a respectful P12 in his first ever race to ending the championship in P7 overall and P4 in the Rookie championship! Unsurprisingly, Zak's talents were recognised bringing a key sponsor onboard and opening up racing opportunities in the future.
At age 10, Zak raced in the Junior Rods, here he mastered car control skills on the dirt track claiming P3 in his very first year. Whilst keeping his main focus on his driving skills, Zak also continued to develop his understanding of the mechanics of the car.
Collecting racing trophies began in Ninja Karting when Zak was 6 years old. In his first season Zak qualified for 'Speed Weekend' where all the main oval formulas across world compete. This was the first proof that Zak could keep his cool under pressure as he finished 6th in his formula!
